Can we overstate the Love of God?

There is much scuttle about the newest round of conversation about the love of God with the soon release of Rob Bell book

He has done a great job of getting people talking from this

A number of people have been talking like this over the last 2000 years, including this week, Tony Jones
, Brian McLaren
, and me in my book A Christianity Worth Believing.

This latest round got me thinking, Is it possible to overstate the Love of God? 
Is it really possible to tell a story of God that is more graceful than God actually is? 
Is it possible to really give God too much mercy credit?

I don’t think so.

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
